While we do our best to develop & maintain the best text-to-speech service in the world and keep it as such forever and ever, we make no commitment, no liability, no warranty, and we will not be held accountable for anything as much as permitted by law. All products & services are AS-IS, use at your own risk, can change any time without notice. We also hold the right to stop the service for all or specific accounts without notice. Our relationship is based on continuous win-win without legal bindings or potential lawsuits - you agree not to sue us for anything. If you do not agree with our terms, please do not use our service.


More specifically, and in addition to the above, including guidelines on appropriate use and against abusing our service here:


General

  1. Our relationship is based on a mutual win-win, and can be terminated by either side at any time without notice. If terminated by us, you will be eligible for a refund for the remaining time of your paid-plan, if any. If you are unhappy with our service, please contact us and we will do our best to make it right. If you are still unhappy, and you purchased a paid-plan, you can cancel your subscription at any time. If you cancel your subscription, you will not be charged again. If you cancel a paid-plan within 1 week and less than 10k chars used, you will be eligible for a full refund based on our 100% satisfaction policy. If you cancel after 1 week or after 10k chars used, you will not be eligible for a refund, as we have back-to-back costs providing the service.
  2. The product is AS-IS, and can change without notice, including regression, for any reason.
  3. It is not sold to you, but licensed for use according to our EULA & terms.
  4. We do our best to keep the service running and to improve it, but we make no commitment to do so.
  5. We are not responsible for any damage or loss of data, and we are not liable for anything as much as permitted by law.
  6. We respect your privacy and do not store your private data unless necessary for the service to work.
  7. Stating the obvious: We use cookies and analytics to improve our service. We do our best to protect your privacy and implement the industry’s best practices. We won’t be held accountable if we fail or in case of malicious hacking or other cyber attacks. More on privacy see here: Privacy Policy.
  8. TTSReader is commercial ready and can be used to generate audio for commercial use including publishing, and you hold the full rights to the audio, as long as you adhere to the following publishing guidelines: Commercial Use.
  9. Emails - we will occasionally send you emails - just as needed for providing our service to you or to update you about our service.

Emails

  1. Personal Emails

Some emails are personal to you, regrading your account, support, billing, etc. You cannot opt out of those personal emails (unless you remove your account altogether) as these emails are crucial for the operation of the service.

  1. Non-Personal Updates via Emails

Other emails, which are generic and include news, updates, etc. - you can opt out of these non-personal emails by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email, or by managing your account on the account-management page.

  1. Email Privacy
  • We will not share your email with any 3rd parties, except as required by law or as necessary to provide our services, and doing so only with world-leading high-reputation trustworthy email-services or payment providers such as Google, Microsoft, Twilio, PayPal (specifically for billing), etc.
  • We will not spam you.
  • We will not sell your email to any 3rd parties.
  • We will not use your email for any other purpose than providing our services and communicating with you about your account and our services.
  1. Email Security

Please note that email addresses are easy to impersonate. How to tell our emails are really from us? All of the following must be true together:

  • The sender-email address is from one of our domains: @ttsreader.com, OR @wellsrc.com (the owner company of TTSReader), OR @speechlogger.com (for historical reasons)
  • We will never ask you for your password or any other sensitive information via email. If you receive an email from us that seems suspicious, please contact us immediately to contact@ttsreader.com
  • Our emails will always be signed with DKIM and SPF, and will always have a valid SSL certificate.
  • The ReplyTo address is always to one of our domains: @ttsreader.com, OR @wellsrc.com (the owner company of TTSReader), OR @speechlogger.com (for historical reasons).

No Warranty, No Liability, License Grant

  1. Disclaimer of Warranty.

THERE IS NO WARRANTY FOR THE PROGRAM OR SERVICE, TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW. THE PROGRAM AND SERVICE ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. THE ENTIRE RISK AS TO THE QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE OF THE PROGRAM IS WITH YOU. SHOULD THE PROGRAM OR SERVICE PROVE DEFECTIVE, YOU ASSUME THE COST OF ALL IMPLICATIONS.

  1. No Liability.

IN NO EVENT TTSREADER’S OWNER WILL BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR DAMAGES, INCLUDING ANY GENERAL, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE PROGRAM AND OUR SERVICES (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA OR DATA BEING RENDERED INACCURATE OR LOSSES SUSTAINED BY YOU OR THIRD PARTIES OR A FAILURE OF THE PROGRAM TO OPERATE WITH ANY OTHER PROGRAMS).

  1. License Grant.

The program is licensed, not sold. TTSReader grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the program and our services. There are different license plans, see our Plans & Pricing. You may not copy, modify, or distribute the program or our services without prior written permission from TTSReader. You may use the generated audio for commercial purposes, including publishing, including selling the audio itself, even after the license expires, as long as you adhere to the following publishing guidelines: Commercial Use. Specifically note that some voices that come with MacOS are not meant or allowed for publishing. All premium voices are allowed for publishing. To make sure the voice you use is allowed for publishing - click on the voice-selector, and in the voices-list a green checkmark indicates your voice is OK to be published.


  1. Commercial and Publishing

TTSReader is OK for personal and commercial use, and can be used to generate audio for commercial use including publishing, and selling, as long as you adhere to the following publishing guidelines: Commercial Use.

  1. Copyright of the Generated Audio

You hold the full rights to the generated audio, even after the license expires, as long as you adhere to the following publishing guidelines: Commercial Use. TTSReader does not claim any ownership of the generated audio.

Plans, Quotas, and No Abuse

  1. Free Plan

The free plan is meant for personal use only, or for testing purposes. It is not meant for commercial use, and it is not meant for heavy usage. If you are using TTSReader for commercial purposes, or if you are using it heavily, please upgrade to a paid plan. It is not allowed to use the free plan for commercial purposes, or for API, or automatic processes (bots or other programmatic use). Quotas for the free plan are: unlimited for the legacy player. Limited on the new text-to-speech-player to a number of characters per day that may change from time to time. Generated audio under the free plan is not allowed for publishing or selling. Not to be sold, resold, or abused. For a single personal use only.

As of 2025-05-18 the free plan is limited to 3k chars of non premium voices per day and to 3k chars of premium voices per account total. If you need more than that, or need to use it commercially, or for a business, or you need to publish or sell the generated audio, or you need to use it programatically or via automation or API, please upgrade to a paid plan.


  1. Paid Plans

The paid plans are required for private power-users, businesses, organizations, schools, colleges, commercial use, publishing and selling the generated audio, API, bots and any automations. The paid plans cover our new player, API, Chrome extension, other browser extensions. It will cover our mobile apps as well, when they will be updated. Currently (as of 2025-05-18) the mobile apps are (unfortunately) outdated and have their own independent plans (which is mostly free). There are 3 complementary paid plans:

  • Premium Plan - based on a monthly subscription / yearly license - and is meant for a single seat normal use per account. As such, it is limited to normal no-abuse single-seat usage, that is based on common usage stats. Single seat user license - not for multiple users. Multiple users require multiple licenses - 1 for each user, or purchasing credits via the Pay-as-you-go plan. As of 2025-05-18 the limits to the Premium plan are:
    • Non premium voices: unlimited.
    • Premium voices: 200k chars per day and 1M chars per month.

  • Premium Plus Plan - like the Premium Plan but for the top 5% of our heavy-users. Single seat user license - not for multiple users. Multiple users require multiple licenses - 1 for each user, or purchasing credits via the Pay-as-you-go plan. As of 2025-05-18 the limits for the Premium Plus plan are:
    • Non premium voices: unlimited.
    • Premium voices: 500k chars per day and 2.5M chars per month.

  • Pay-as-you-go Plan - for anyone who prefers to only pay for what they actually use - and for users who need to exceed the limits of the Premium and Premium Plus plans. This plan is based on pre-purchasing credits. It is perfect for API users. Credits are consumed by the number of characters actually generated by your account. Credits expire after 1 year - which is extended to 1 year on every new purchase - so even older credits get the expiration extended to 1 year from the last purchase. If the account has both a premium plan and credits, then the credits will be consumed only after the quota of the premium plan is reached.

  1. Abuse.

Any use not in the scope as described above, including opening multiple accounts for a single user instead of upgrading to the appropriate plan, is prohibited and may result in suspension of your account and or IP address without notice. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if we suspect any abuse or violation of our terms. If you have any questions about your usage or need more than the limits of the paid plans, please contact us.

  1. Remove Account.

You may remove your account altogether at any time by going to the account-management page and clicking on the “Remove Account” button. This will remove your account and all your data from our servers. Please note that this action is irreversible and cannot be undone.
